A new record label and subscription platform for artists has been launched. Called October House Records (OHR), it will offer recordings, audio-visual material and scores and provide a platform for some of today's most innovative young composers and performers.

As of today, the first ten albums are available to stream and download, and feature Jasmin Kent Rodgman, Zoë Martlew, Colin Alexander, Love Ssega, Max Baillie and Leafcutter John, Héloïse Werner, Max Baillie, Kit Downes and Shiva Feshareki, Ongemang – Live at Cafe OTO, David Buckley and Bishi Bhattacharya.

All releases can be streamed for a £7.50 per month subscription, with EPs and albums downloadable for an additional cost, and the site also offers subscribers a radio service broadcasting the label's library in shuffle mode.

OHR has been founded by Colin Alexander, with panel members include Kit Downes and Héloïse Werner. In the spirit of an organisation run by and for artists, the aim is that production, mastering and design expenses will be covered, while royalties will be split between the lead artist (85 per cent), OHR (10 per cent) and the release coordinator (5 per cent).
